December, 2013

'Looking for the PCM sticker info? Click here!

December was a pretty low-key month, fishing-wise. We had a good winter break, though, and good visits with friends and family. Wendy's mom, Betty, came up and stayed with us for a few days at Christmas time. Wendy and I spent New Year's Eve in Winthrop, which was fun and interesting. We had some of the best Mexican food we've ever had in Omak, too, at Rancho Chico on the main drag. It's definitely worth a visit if you find yourself hungry in Omak.

I did manage to get a bit of fishing in. I hit the Adams River to shake off the shack nasties and hopefully christen my new Redington Dually 4109 switch rod, I hit Spences Bridge with Dean to swing the big rods for one last try at at Thompson steelhead, and I even fished the Methow on New Year's Eve! No steelhead on the Thompson and Methow this month, though.

So long 2013!

Alison's almost finished her tattoo artist apprenticeship! If you are interested in
getting some ink from her, contact her at The Fall Gallery.

My new Dually in the snow. My old Hardy St. Aidan reel balances it nicely.
'Great to use that reel again. The Rio Switch Chucker line is great on this rod.

Success! First fish on the Dually.

We had some beautiful sunsets in December!

PCM Stickers

I decided to post ordering information here to make things easier for anyone who is interested in purchasing stickers to commemorate our late friend Peter Cameron Morrison. This small project started with an idea I posted on FlyBC.ca here, and it has grown a bit. At the time of this writing I've shipped more than 800 PCM stickers. They look like this:

Proceeds of PCM stickers sales go to the Canadian Diabetes Association
and the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC.
Scroll down to see PCM stickers in action!
If you would like to order stickers, please note:

Cost: $2 per sticker

Postage (estimated here - these are the new rates effective Mar. 31, 2014):
  • fewer than 15 stickers = $1.00
  • 15-25 stickers = $1.20
  • 26-55 stickers = $1.80*
  • 56-100 stickers = $2.95*
  • >100 stickers = $10.00
(*may be more if package too thick for letter rate)

Please note: The rates above are for postage within Canada. Contact me if you are from the US or elsewhere.

You can pay me by cheque,  PayPal, email money transfer or cash (if in person).

Please make cheques payable to Ken Woodward.

My email address and PayPal ID is: ken.woodward@gmail.com

If you use PayPal, please also add $0.06 per sticker + $0.30 to cover the PayPal transaction fee. That way the charities will get their full amount of the proceeds.

You can also send me a stamped, self-addressed envelope along with your cheque, keeping in mind the cost of postage for the number of stickers you order. If in doubt, overestimate! :-)
My mailing address is:

I look forward to seeing "PCM, Good Day!" on all sorts of vehicles, boats, rod cases, and so on. With luck I'll spot yours (or you'll spot mine) and we'll meet!

Thank you to Tony at Jafa Industries for his generous support of this project.

All the best,

Ken
